Makita RP001G Cordless XGT 40Vmax 1/2" Plunge Router

Equivalent in power to a 2.1KW corded machine, this plunge router takes full advantage of the XGT 40Vmax Li-ion battery platform to drive the spindle at a no-load speed of 25,000 rpm. The onboard electronics allow constant speed control, where the load on the bit is constantly monitored, allowing more power to be sent to the motor to keep a constant speed even with varying loading.

The motor is an extreme performance fan-cooled brushless DC unit which can not only provide a high rotational speed, but also high torque, and with no maintenance requirements. The speed of the motor can be varied via a control dial to one of five speed settings, with the minimum being 8,000 rpm and the highest being 25,000 rpm.

Unless selected, this router comes without batteries or charger for our lowest price. It works with any Makita 40Vmax XGT battery pack, cross-compatible with the huge range of XGT power tools and cordless garden machinery. The RP001G is compatible with AWS, letting it communicate wirelessly over Bluetooth to an AWS dust extractor; corded or cordless.

The 1/2" collet opens you up to not only larger bits but also to more aggressive cuts with faster material removal. The diameter of the shanks of the router cutter bits are twice the size of 1/4" bits, but the area is 4 times as much, making for a much stronger bit. This router would be excellent for a range of different applications including cabinetry and door fitting.
